Nenagh Ormond U13 Red Team secured a well-deserved win against Desmond Rugby in the League Bowl Semi-Final on Sunday in Newcastlewest. The lads played their best rugby of the season, scoring an early try and kept the focus for the entire match to hold off a spirited Desmond team. After all the rain over the past couple of weeks the crowd were treated to some beautiful rugby by both sides on a bright, dry morning. They now play either Ennis or Scariff, who play this weekend, in the final. The u13s White Team are up next when they take on UL Bohemians in the League Plate Semi-Final at home on Sunday, Feb 15th.
Nenagh Ormond under 16s played UL Bohemians in their last group game of the pan Munster cup. Nenagh had played the same opposition earlier in the season and it was a tight affair with Nenagh winning by a single point. That wasn’t to be the case this weekend as Nenagh won comfortably. From the kick off Nenagh brought a huge intensity and aggression in attack and defence that UL Bohemians were unable to deal with. Nenagh now advance to the Munster quarter finals scheduled for later this month. Training continues Wednesday and Friday.
Meanwhile, our U15 team had an excellent win in their U16 Munster bowl competition defeating Muskerry on a scoreline of 41-14 in Muskerry last Monday morning. The win should secure a place in the quarter finals of this competition which will take place later this month.
