In terms of adult rugby the weekend could scarcely have gone much better for the senior team. Having already toppled table topping Queens at home earlier in the season last weekend saw second placed Blackrock being the next high flying side to experience defeat in Lisatunny. While the win sees the team unmoved in 5th place they are very much in striking distance of a playoff spot. In fact only 4 points split those teams places 2nd to 5th currently. Slightly ahead are Queens University on 44 points, 11 to the good of Nenagh. However having turned over the Dub Lane outfit in Nenagh and having got results at the Belfast venue in the past Nenagh will not fear having a cut at the promotion favourites once more. Nenagh make the long trek to Belfast for a 2.30pm kickoff on Saturday. Any support would be very much appreciated. Please contact a committee member should you be interested in travelling with the team on Saturday.

Meanwhile on Sunday last the 2nd XV ramped up their preparation for the Junior Cup with a Munster Senior League game vs Old Crescent RFC in Rosbrien. The game proved to be a real humdinger, eventually swung by a last play try from the home side, converted from the touchline for a 28- 27 win. While disappointed with the outcome this was a brilliant performance and ideal preparation ahead of a home duel with Ennis RFC in the Munster Junior Cup this Sunday at 2pm. All supporters are encouraged to come and cheer on this exciting young side as they represent the club in what has always been a much loved competition for all who take pride in the red and white of Nenagh Ormond RFC.
